Implant & Maxillofacial Surgery Center
If you are missing one or more teeth due to decay, gum issues, or injuries, dental implants are the gold standard for restoration. An implant behaves as a substitute tooth root, using a biocompatible titanium screw anchored surgically into your jawbone. Once integrated, a custom crown is secured on top, restoring your complete smile.
Why Choose Dental Implants?
Implants offer substantial structural and cosmetic benefits compared to traditional dental bridges or sliding dentures:
Natural Look & Comfort
They blend seamlessly with adjacent teeth. Because they fuse directly with the bone, there is no slipping, clicking, or discomfort when eating.
Jawbone Preservation
Missing teeth lead to gradual jawbone resorption (shrinkage) over time. Implants stimulate the bone, maintaining facial structure.
Uncompromised Speech & Chewing
You can speak clearly and bite into your favorite foods (apples, nuts, meats) without worrying about dentures moving.
Lifetime Durability
With correct brushing, flossing, and periodic dental visits, titanium dental implants can last a lifetime.
The Implant Treatment Phases
Comprehensive Diagnostic Plan
Dr. B.L. Degra assesses your jawbone density and gum health using digital diagnostics and our Alerio Neo Portable X-Ray system to map exact surgical positions.
Surgical Post Placement
Under local anesthesia, the medical-grade titanium screw (implant post) is placed inside the jawbone. We allow a period of 3 to 6 months for osseointegration (the bone fusing with the post).
Abutment & Custom Crown Fit
Once healing is complete, a connector (abutment) is attached to the post. We take detailed impressions and place a custom-colored porcelain/zirconia crown to finalize your smile.
